The wait is over: a new Hilary Duff album is on the way.
Fresh off the release of her latest single “Mature” earlier this month, Duff shared the title, cover and release date for her upcoming album luck…or something on Friday, November 21.
She also explained the title in a statement. “I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry,” began the former child star. “The album title is my way of answering that question.”
Duff continued, “It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’. Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”
luck…or something will be released on Friday, Feb. 20 via Atlantic Records.
The album arrives more than 10 years after Duff’s last full-length body of work, 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out.
On Friday, Nov. 6, Duff released the upcoming album’s lead single, “Mature,” which finds her reflecting on a relationship from her past. At the time, she said in a statement, “‘Mature’ is a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self.”
“The two of us are reflecting on a past experience and sending love to each other,” she continued. “It’s a chuckle, a wink and a sense of being grateful that we are sure footed in where we landed.”
Duff will promote luck…or something with the Small Rooms, Big Nerves mini tour in January with shows in London, Toronto, Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
“It’s happening,” the A Cinderella Story star said in a statement. “I’m over the moon to be stepping on stage again. I’ve got some new songs that I can’t wait to share with you and of course some old favorites we can scream together. It’s been a minute and I’ve missed you. Let’s make some mems.”
