The 2026 Grammy Awards will be touching down on television screens worldwide on Feb. 1, and the Internet is abuzz with speculation about the winners and losers. Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are set to go toe to toe for the coveted Album of the Year Award, an eight-and-a-half-pound hunk of gold and aluminum that — at this year’s ceremony — will be served alongside an equally opulent cocktail.

Earlier this month, Patrón was announced as the Official Tequila Partner of the 68th Grammy Awards. In addition to the usual mix of co-branded sponsorship opportunities (a 360-degree bar at the Grammy House, behind-the-scenes interviews and so on), the partnership is being commemorated with a sparkling drink helmed by one of the industry’s most respected mixologists.

The tequila maker has partnered with Daniel Gonzalez of the Mexico City-based Licoreria Limantour to bring the concept to life. A frequent sight on the World’s 50 Best Bars list, Limantour is best known within the bartending world for sweet and savory creations like the Margarita Al Pastor, a taco-cocktail hybrid that blends tequila, triple sec and lime juice with punchy additions of cilantro, mint, basil and serrano chile-infused syrup.

The official cocktail at this year’s Grammy ceremony plays things a little safer, though it doesn’t lack in character. The drink, dubbed The Golden Record, combines Patrón El Alto, Prosecco, sherry and fruit cordial for a nimble mix of effervescence and autumn flavor.

“We’re honored to welcome Patrón as our Official Tequila Partner,” said Adam Roth, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Business Development at The Recording Academy. “The Grammy Awards celebrate artistry at the highest level, and Patrón’s uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship and quality mirrors that pursuit of excellence. From the red carpet to backstage—and audiences at home around the world—we’re excited to toast with The Golden Record as we kick off this spirited new partnership.”

If you’re interested in recreating The Golden Record at home, find the full recipe below. Be warned, however, that some ingredients will be easier to source than others (looking at you, pear cordial).
