Guests gather in the Hotel Jerome’s courtyard during the 2025 Epicurean Passport opening ceremony.
The Hotel Jerome’s Epicurean Passport weekend is returning for its sixth year this weekend during the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.
Events will take place from June 18-21 throughout the Hotel Jerome in “a showcase of world-class culinary experiences and dynamic partnerships,” according to a news release about the event. In his second year as general manager of the hotel overseeing the Epicurean Passport weekend, Stephane Lacroix wanted to make the events a “celebration of the town of Aspen,” he told the Aspen Daily News.
“I wanted to get more in touch with locals,” Lacroix said. “If you’re a resident or if you love coming to Aspen, we want it to really feel like Aspen.”
Thursday’s event in the Hotel Jerome courtyard will feature live music by Aspen-based Feeding Giant and will offer some local vendor food and drinks like Woody Creek Distillers and the Farm Collaborative. The opening reception will also feature food from Auberge Collection chefs Anthony Sagnaro, Cornelis Suhr and Michel DeCicco. The Hotel Jerome is an Auberge Collection property.
On Friday evening, the hotel will host “Night of SHE,” an event to celebrate female chefs through a multicourse menu highlighting each chef’s strengths in the kitchen. The chefs are James Beard Awards finalist Daisy Ryan of Bell’s in Los Alamos, Melissa Perello of France and Octavia, Suzanne Tracht of Jar and Sofia Cortina, who was named Latin America’s best pastry chef in 2020.
The event will culminate in Saturday’s “Winner’s Table” dinner — a multicourse dinner led by the most recent “Top Chef” winner Rhoda Magbitang. Magbitang grew up in the Philippines and was announced as the show’s winner in early June.
The Epicurean Passport weekend will end Sunday with a recovery brunch in the hotel courtyard.
Beyond the main events of the weekend, the Hotel Jerome will also host daily programming as part of the Epicurean Passport. Felix Roasting Co. will lead a tasting experience and masterclass on Friday with a guided filter coffee flight. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Felix Roasting Co. will host “Felix After Hours,” which will not require tickets for entry.
Death & Co., a New York-based cocktail bar, will host a two-night residency in Bad Harriet.
As much as Lacroix wants the event to be a celebration of Aspen, he also wants it to be a celebration of summer.
“That’s when the town comes to life,” he said.
