How Daniel Radcliffe is looking out for new ‘Harry Potter’ cast
Daniel Radcliffe is showing support for the next generation of Harry Potter cast, urging fans to give them a chance and their space rather than comparing them to original stars.
The 36-year-old English actor starred as Harry Potter in all of the eight movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s book series.
With HBO now moving forward with a fresh series adaptation, he has expressed hopes that the young cast can enjoy the journey without the weight of past expectations.
After the new cast was announced for the ‘Harry Potter’ series, Daniel noted that many fans online seemed united in wanting to “look after these kids.”
During his chat with ScreenRant, the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone star stated, “If everyone really means that; one of the things you can do for me is not ask about us, me, Emma [Watson], Rupert [Grint], all the time.”
“I would like not to be a weird spectral phantoms in these children’s lives and just to let them get on because it’s going to be a new thing and it’s going to be a different thing,” Daniel added.
Dominic McLaughlin will step into the role of Harry Potter, with Arabella Stanton cast as Hermione, and Alastair Stour taking on Ron.
Daniel further expressed confidence in Dominic, saying he “is going to be better than me and better than I was,” while also adding that he hopes the new cast has “the best time” filming the series.
