Justin and Hailey Bieber will celebrate their son’s first birthday tomorrow, and the couple has come a long way in their relationship over the past few months. After reports surfaced earlier this summer of the Biebers facing a challenging time in their marriage, a source close to the couple told Us Weekly today that Hailey and Justin are doing a lot better.
“There’s still work to be done in their marriage, but they’re in a much better place,” the source said, adding that Hailey, in particular, “takes it day by day and is very patient [with Justin].”
The couple’s issues stemmed from Justin’s erratic behavior, multiple sources shared earlier this year. But since releasing his album Swag, Justin has been more at ease.
The “tension has settled,” Us Weekly’s insider explained, noting that “the intense focus and emotional toll of creating new music had put a strain on their marriage. When Justin is in the studio making new music, he gets completely consumed and shuts everything else out.”
Now, the couple has “been able to finally reconnect more,” the source continued. “There’s a sense of relief on both sides. Justin’s behavior has been more relaxed. He felt a lot of pressure hanging over him and has been in a better mental headspace these last few weeks. He is very happy there have been positive reviews of the album and that fans like it.”
A source told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that the singer still has his mental health challenges but is doing his best to take care of himself.
“Justin is feeling better since his album release,” the insider explained. “Having creative outlets has helped him have some stability. He is still dealing with a lot of anxiety in his life, but he’s doing his best to be present in his marriage and for his son.”
Justin and Hailey will mark their seventh wedding anniversary on September 13.
