Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood has serenaded “Sunday Night Football” for 13 years. While her performance of the theme song has been used for seasons now, rumors have flowed about how much the artist gets paid for each week.
An X user named “MLFootball,” an account with nearly 400,000 followers, made a post during last season that Underwood is paid one million dollars each week for the Sunday night theme.
The post continues to suggest she films all segments in one day and earns a total $18 million.
But Underwood has been able to speak to the rumors and shed some light on her alleged multi-million dollar deal. Here’s what we know about Underwood’s Sunday night performance.
How much does Carrie Underwood get paid for Sunday Night Football?
In an interview with Howard Stern in 2023, a year prior to the rumored post coming out in October 2024, she candidly discussed the rumor.
When Stern noted that “the money ain’t bad,” he asked if the rumor of $18 million was true.
“For me? No!” Underwood said quickly, according to Us Weekly.
Instead, Underwood noted that it’s “pretty pro-bono” according to the Magazine.
While these reports defeat the $18 million paycheck, her actual pay remains a mystery.
