Hugh Jackman is aiming to mend fences with his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness, a source tells Globe.
“Hugh has been trying to make peace with Debs for a long while now, but as you can imagine, it has taken her time to feel ready,” the source explains. “However, settling all the legal stuff seems to have helped because she’s finally coming around.”
The source notes the pair have “gotten together a couple of times in New York recently to talk things out” and that the relationship has “improved dramatically.”
“Everyone in her life is thrilled to see her make this effort to forgive Hugh,” adds the source.
The source claims Furness’ “main motivation” for “peace talks” is her children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20, whom she shares with the Deadpool & Wolverine, 56, star.

“If they can at least get to a point where they can celebrate family milestones together without any tension, that will mean a whole lot for their kids,” the source shares.
As Globe previously reported, The Greatest Showman actor and Furness, 69, separated in September 2023. However, the Shame actress didn’t file for divorce until this past May, four months after Jackman went public with girlfriend Sutton Foster in January. The couple then finalized their divorce in June.
At the time of filing, Furness released an emotional statement to the Daily Mail saying, “My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”
