Ten has confirmed news that I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is leaving the network – but its hosts are not.

A Ten representative revealed on Friday that executives had put the format to “rest” before assuring fans that Julia Morris and Robert Irwin aren’t going anywhere, despite speculation that rival networks are eyeing up the wildlife warrior for their own TV lineups.

“We have made the decision to rest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2027 as we focus on offering our audience a range of content on all platforms,” a Ten spokesperson told SkyNews.com.au.

“We look forward to working with Julia Morris and Robert Irwin on other projects.”

Speaking of Ten’s decision to axe the format, Irwin reflected on the “life-changing experience” of hosting the show over the past two years alongside his co-host Morris.

“I want to express what an absolute privilege it has been to work on this show for the past three seasons,” he began.

“I grew up watching this show as so many Aussies do, so to be part of the fantastic team that make this series a reality felt like a dream come true.

“We have had the honour of sharing incredible stories and create a platform to shine a light on amazing charities that our celebrities have supported along the way.

“And to do it all alongside my co-host, and friend, Julia Morris made it a truly life-changing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Morris similarly dubbed her tenure on the show “the best working experience of my lifetime” thanks to her “jungle family”.

“I have loved every moment and will be forever grateful to Beverley and the whole team at Network 10 for not only believing in this show but nurturing it for 12 years.

“And to our jungle family watching from home, we love you.”

Ten confirmed that the show would leave its screens in 2027, adding of the decision:  “Our schedule is reviewed regularly to strike the right balance between new and returning titles, keeping our lineup fresh and distinctive for our audience.”

Just this week, SkyNews.com.au revealed that ‘the jungle’ franchise was being circled by both Network Nine and Seven Network following weeks of speculation that the show had been axed by Ten.

According to well-placed TV insiders, the bidding war could completely transform the show as viewers know it, with its future hosts, contestants and format all hanging in the balance.

“Nobody believes I’m A Celebrity is disappearing forever,” spills one industry source, adding: “The format is still incredibly valuable and both Nine and Seven see huge potential in it. The question now is which network can reinvent it best.”

Furthermore, Irwin is reportedly being pursued by rival television networks, with industry sources telling SkyNews.com.au that the 22-year-old presenter has become one of the most sought-after stars in Australian television.

Channel Seven is understood to be interested in securing him for several major entertainment projects, including a hosting role at the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards.

“Robert appeals to multiple demographics and has become incredibly valuable commercially,” one television insider said.

“He’s someone networks believe could front several major formats over the next decade.”
