Nigerian influencer Anda Damisa, also known as “LazyWrita,” has announced his own death.

“Don’t cry for me please,” Damisa wrote via Instagram on Monday, December 29, sharing what he described as “some of the last nice photos” he took. “I lived a full and adventurous life, people who know me can testify, I just don’t have the energy to continue anymore.”

Damisa added that he is now “happy, unburdened and free.”

“I deleted all my socials across all platforms. I have just this one left and I felt it was imperative my friends and loved ones see this message so no false narrative is written and so they know I’m good and in a better place,” he continued. “I love you all. Kiss kiss. Rest well Anda 🕊️.”

Damisa’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Loved ones and fans paid tribute to Damisa in the comments section of his post.

“You were a blessing. For what it’s worth. You were a blessing bro. Thank you 💚,” one user wrote, while another person added, “RIP bro🕊️, I hope you’ve found peace.”

Damisa’s friend, who goes by “theonlydolapoo” on Instagram, reposted the content creator’s final post via his Instagram Stories, writing, “Mental health matters. Please speak to someone. Rest in peace brother 🤍🕊️.”

Damisa had nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram and was known for posting lifestyle content and brand partnerships. He also published a poetry collection in 2019 called A Lazy Poet.

In the months leading up to his death, Damisa got candid about his mental health struggles and what led him to take a step back from social media.

“October really put me through it, mentally, emotionally, and in ways I didn’t see coming. Some days felt heavy and some lessons hit too hard, but I kept pushing through,” he wrote in an October 31 post.

Damisa continued, “I learned about patience, discipline, and the kind of strength that only shows up when life tests you. Cheers to stepping into the rest of the year with a clearer mind, a steadier heart, and a quiet confidence in what’s ahead.”

On November 10, Damisa wrote, “I was quiet for a while. A lot of people especially my friends are still asking where I’ve been and why I disappeared, not just online, but in life too. It got to a time everything felt too loud and I just couldn’t keep up anymore. The things that used to bring me joy started to feel heavy, and even the simplest moments lost their spark. It wasn’t just social media I fell out of love with … it was life itself. A lot of things lost meaning and each day after just hurried by in a blur, leaving me behind.”

He continued, “I stepped away, to breathe, to remember who I was beneath all the noise. I took a pause long enough to feel alive again. Slowly, I am finding pieces of myself again, in small joys, in honest conversations and most especially in the quiet moments. So forgive me if you felt like I disappeared on you. I did on myself too. I am learning to fall back in love, with life, with peace, and showing up even when it feels like a struggle so this one is a cheers to everyone who’s ever gone through days like this and to taking it all one day at a time.”
