Move over, Matt Damon — Ben Affleck has found a new bromance with Kevin Costner, a source tells Globe.
“Ben has a lot more in common than ever with Kevin and lot more than he does with Matt right now,” says the source, noting that the Oscar winners — who are both actors-turned-directors — have both been through multiple failed marriages. “Kevin sees himself in Ben in a lot of ways.”
The pair, who starred together in 2010’s The Company Men, “have been personal friends for a while, but it’s been a bumpy couple of years for both of them, so they’ve been leaning on each other and being supportive.”
Costner settled a messy divorce from his second wife, Christine Baumgartner, after 20 years in 2024. Affleck’s second marriage, to Jennifer Lopez, ended in 2025.
Since then, they’re both “up to their eyeballs in work,” says the source, with Costner, 70, finishing his Horizon: An American Saga film series and Affleck, 53, producing films.
“They’re also very involved parents to their growing and grown-up children,” adds the source.

Largely considered two of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, the source says they’re still finding time to date — with Costner currently involved in a romance with director Kelly Noonan Gores, per People — and “comparing notes where appropriate.”
Affleck “can’t really confide in” longtime BFF Damon — who’s been married to Luciana Barroso for 20 years — about being single in Hollywood right now, the source points out.
“But Ben and Kevin relate on a deep level,” says the source, “and they’ve been a great comfort to each other during a pretty crazy time in both of their lives.”
