British hitmaker Ed Sheeran is moving across the pond.
In a recent appearance on the “The 2 Johnnies Podcast, the Grammy-Award winning singer-songwriter shared he is moving to the United States with his family and joked that he might be the “only person moving to America.”
“I’m going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can’t dip in and out,” he said. “We’re going and settling there.” The singer shares two daughters with wife Cherry Seaborn: Lyra Antarctica, 5, and Jupiter, 3, USA TODAY reported.
Apart from a Sept. 20 appearance at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Sheeran doesn’t have any upcoming U.S. tour dates. Throughout March of 2026, Sheeran will be touring throughout Europe, New Zealand and Australia, according to his website.
A new North American tour may be forthcoming, though, with Sheeran’s latest album, “Play,” slated to drop Sept. 12.
Although Sheeran did not explicitly mention where in the U.S. he plans to move, the star has an affinity for Nashville. The songsmith lived in Middle Tennessee in the 2010’s and has been spotted hanging out at local bars and performing across Music City venues — from Nissan Stadium to Lower Broadway honky-tonks.

Sheeran’s relocation news follows his April appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, in which he called Nashville his “favorite city” in the U.S. and discussed a transition to country music.
Sheeran added that while he’s made country songs in the past, they’ve never been released.
“It’s always been like my end goal. I’m going to move to Nashville and transition to country, but I think you just have to do it properly,” he told host Alex Cooper. “It’s a genre you have to really respect, and it’s not just a dip in and out.”
Previously in 2013, Sheeran told the BBC that the city’s ability to blend “music, countryside and a relaxed atmosphere” with “very, very nice people” and a lack of “paparazzi on the lookout for celebrities” was attractive to him.
“I don’t think people really care in Nashville,” he told the BBC of celebrity appearances. “Even if they knew who you were, I don’t think they’d care. They’d just be like, ‘Eh.'”

Despite being an ocean away, Ed Sheeran’s visits to Nashville are frequent.
In March, Sheeran was spotted all over Music City, from a stop at the iconic Broadway bar Tootsies to a songwriting session, a visit to Belmont University, and a performance at the Bluebird Cafe.
“Yee haw [expletive],” Sheeran wrote on Instagram.
Most recently, in April, the star performed an intimate concert at Santa’s Pub alongside Noah Kahan. The duo played more than two dozen songs for a crowd of about 100 people.
Sheeran previously lived in Middle Tennessee in 2013 and 2018, The Tennessean reported.
