The Masked Singer UK crowned its 2026 winner as Moth was unveiled on ITV
Viewers of The Masked Singer were left astonished when Moth was crowned this year’s champion. The big reveal had fans of the ITV programme reeling. Whilst speculation had been rife, the moment the celebrity removed their mask, it was Keisha Buchanan underneath.
For their closing performances, Moth opted for I Want To Know What Love Is. They also performed Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ I Wanna Be Next To You alongside Lion Fish (Will Young). During the final showdown, Moth delivered a stirring version of Rihanna’s Only Girl.
Numerous hints had been scattered throughout Moth’s VTs and performances regarding their identity, though some may have been deliberate misdirections. Clues featured tulips being tossed at their feet, a framed photograph of Ronnie Corbett, and the celebrity panel also highlighted their “posh” accent, reports the Mirror.
This prompted viewers to guess who might be concealed behind the costume. Suggestions included US actress Molly Ringwald, singer Jamelia and even Jessie J.
Billie Piper’s name had also been floated by the judges, alongside singing icon Beverley Knight. Mo was convinced it was the soul legend, noting the jazz reference in her clue package meant they attended stage school, and after spotting the “queen bee'” hint, he declared it was “staring him in the face”.
Ben Shepherd was unmasked as the runner-up, Conker, leaving the panel shocked. Third position saw Toastie revealed as Mica Paris.
Following Keisha’s unmasking, fans flocked to social media to share their reactions. One user on Twitter/X revealed they had suspected her identity from the very beginning: “My predictions. Same as they were from week 1! Conkers – Mark Owen. Toastie – Brenda Edwards. Moth – Keisha buchanan.”
Another praised the performance: “Wow! Well done Keisha Buchanan. What a star. You look like a princess up there. Brilliant as moth.”
The previous week, Moth became visibly emotional after their performance. The celebrity delivered a moving interpretation of Colours of the Wind from Pocahontas, originally performed by Judy Kuhn in the 1995 animated film.
The performance clearly touched the judging panel of Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross. Davina highlighted how “emotional” the moment was.
Davina remarked: “That was really breathtaking. Stunning. Thank you!” After her comments, soft sobbing could be heard from beneath the Moth costume.
Mo picked up on the reaction and asked: “I don’t know if Moth is crying under there?” to which the star confirmed with a nod. Mo responded: “Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Now I’m going to cry.”
