Emilie Kiser is continuing to open up about the death of her son Trigg.
In a post to her Instagram Stories, the influencer — whose 3-year-old died after a drowning incident in her and her husband Brady’s backyard pool in May — shared that she has recently taken up scrapbooking as a means of processing her grief.
“Started scrapbooking lately with my friends and it’s been fun to do but also really really hard,” she wrote. “Printing out photos of the boys and seeing what our family looked like just 5 months ago feels like a punch to the gut.”
Emilie and Brady, who live in Arizona, also share 6-month-old Teddy.
Continued the creator: “I promised myself when Trigg passed away that I wouldn’t avoid. I wouldn’t avoid photos, videos, rooms, etc. I knew it would only make things worse in the long run and I also never wanted to avoid looking at him or thinking about him. I hope this hobby can make me feel closer to him as I scrapbook his life and all the amazing memories that I cherish.”
The latest update comes less than a month after the influencer returned to social media for the first time following her son’s death five months ago, as well as a series of legal battles over the public release of information related to his death.

After Trigg died in May, Emilie filed a lawsuit to keep records about her son’s death out of public view. Separately, the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County ruled in her favor on a motion to keep her personal declaration private.
In that May plea — which was later made public in August — Emilie described the media fanfare around her son’s death, including helicopters circling over her home, saying that she and her husband were “deeply concerned about the release of specific information and our ability to even start to heal.”
Brady was the only parent home at the time of the incident and initially told police that he had lost sight of Trigg for three to five minutes before finding him in the pool, though a report by the Chandler Police Department (CDP) later cited video evidence that Trigg “was in the backyard unsupervised for more than nine minutes, and in the water for about seven of those minutes.”

In August, the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County ruled in favor of Emilie’s filing to remove the two pages of the CDP’s report that included recommendations for Brady to be charged with a class 4 felony of child abuse. The legal win followed an announcement from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office that there was “no likelihood of conviction” against Brady.

On Sept. 20, she posted a “house reset” video, similar in kind to the posts she made before her hiatus, where she admitted she was “really nervous” to begin sharing her life online again.
In the weeks since, she has continued to open up about her grieving process, candidly sharing that she was going to therapy and clarifying that she is not taking any medication at the moment.
