Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh are back on ITV with the seventh series of Breaking Dad, which sees the stars tackling tough challenges
TV star Bradley Walsh begs “I don’t want to” as he confronts his fear of heights in the latest instalment of Breaking Dad.
The popular ITV programme follows The Chase presenter and his son Barney as they journey to various countries and take on a series of hair-raising challenges. Now in its seventh series, the father and son duo head Down Under to discover Australia, and in the forthcoming episode Bradley summons the courage to tackle a zipline high above the Blue Mountains while Barney cheers him on.
In a preview clip, Bradley looks absolutely terrified as he grips his rope, breathing heavily, reports the Express.
“I really, really tell you, guys, I really don’t want to do this,” muttered the star, who has a well documented fear of heights.
“Dad, you can do it!” exclaims Barney, but the TV star insisted: “No, I can’t. I don’t want to do it Barns. Please don’t. Please don’t do none of that for me.”
“Well, you can do it, you can,” urged Barney, who is known for hosting TV hit Gladiators alongside his famous dad.
But Bradley said: “What did I just tell him? Didn’t I just tell him?”
“I really don’t want to, though,” he went on. “I really don’t want to do it.”
Despite his reservations, he refused to give up, beginning to inch his hands along the ropes, murmuring: “Please, God.”
With Barney yelling “you got it”, Bradley gradually edged his way along the rope before gratefully stepping onto solid ground on the other side.
When asked how he felt, he appeared to let slip a swear word as he confessed: “Awful.”
“You smashed it, you smashed it,” Barney insisted, as Bradley caught his breath.
Breaking Dad first launched in 2019 and the show is now airing its seventh series.
The latest run kicked off earlier in May, with the opening episode finding the father and son pair touching down in Sydney, where they explored iconic landmarks including Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. They then took on a nerve-shredding aerobatic flight and a ride aboard a stomach-churning, high-altitude cable car.
Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad airs on Friday May 8 at 7.30pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
