It’s quite obvious that David Corenswet-led Superman is already living rent-free in your mind if you are a comic or Supes nerd. But even after witnessing Mr. Terrific in action, saving Superman’s ass in his own film, if you haven’t given Mr. Terrific the space he deserves in your mind and truly considered that he is, well, truly terrific, then maybe it’s time to rewatch Superman – because he really is. Plus, it’s time getting used to Mr. Terrific and Justice Gang’s terrific-ness as they are gearing up to go big in the Gods and Monsters universe.
As a reminder, Green Lantern has his own eight-episode HBO series titled Lanterns, set to premiere in early 2026, and now James Gunn has teased Mr. Terrific’s future.
In a The Morning After Pod podcast with Brandon Davis, James Gunn admitted he had big plans for Mr. Terrific too. “I mean we just I mean well first of all I’ve got major plans for Mr. Terrific.”
Of course, Gunn didn’t reveal where this member of the Justice Gang might go, but let’s just say Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific isn’t going anywhere anytime soon in the DC universe. This is also party due to the enthusiastic fan reception. While Gunn always had plans for Mr. Terrific, he admitted that the massive response really shapes where the character could go.
“Yeah, definitely it influences things. I don’t know, you’re going around the planet, you’re drilling for oil, and every once in a while you get a geyser—and you know Mr. Terrific is a geyser. He’s very popular.”
Well, whatever unfolds, it certainly could be Terrific for all we know!
