Another day, another dominant win on “Jeopardy!” for Michigan native Jamie Ding.
On Tuesday’s episode, Ding won his 18th straight game, pushing his prize winnings past $500,000.
How much has he won?
Ding won $36,360 on Tuesday’s show, giving him an 18-day total of $530,372. He ranks 10th in total “Jeopardy!” victories and eighth in total prize winnings, according to online database The Jeopardy! Fan.
He finished well ahead of runner-up Kevin Iannone, a trivia host from Flagstaff, Arizona, who ended Tuesday’s show with no money after wagering all his earnings in the Final Jeopardy! round and answering incorrectly. The third contestant, Divya Srijay, a student originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, ended up with a negative score and thus was not allowed to participate in Final Jeopardy!
Ding was the lone contestant with the correct response to Tuesday’s Final Jeopardy! clue, which tested the competitors’ knowledge about the 1940 assassination of Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky.
What’s next?
Ding will go for win No. 19 on Wednesday’s episode. In Detroit, “Jeopardy!” airs on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) at 7:30 p.m.
Another victory would move Ding into a three-way tie for eighth most in “Jeopardy!” history.
Current host Ken Jennings holds the record for most “Jeopardy!” victories all-time, with 74 straight in 2004. He’s also the show’s top prize winner with more than $2.5 million from his reign as champ.
