Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t holding back her appreciation for women following a successful opening weekend for Freakier Friday. The movie is a sequel to the 2003 hit film Freaky Friday, which also starred Lindsay Lohan and Chad Michael Murray.
Taking to Instagram, Curtis had a special message for female fans who saw the film on opening weekend. The post included a shot from Freakier Friday of Lohan and Curtis on the beach.
“Thanks to all the women who got sitters and made plans for their families for some cinematic comfort food,” was written across the photo.
Curtis used the caption to further express her gratitude to women. “It is because of YOU, the WOMEN, who came out in droves, with ALL the complications that we WOMEN juggle! YOU made us the #1 COMEDY IN AMERICA!”
Fans flooded the comments section of the Instagram share to gush over the movie and reveal who they saw it with.
“Of course! Wouldn’t have missed it! You made our hearts FULL and gave us the best sequel ever! Loved it! 🥰,” said a fan. One fan wrote, “My 22 year old and I went today together. Such a fun way to spend time together and absolutely loved it!”
Another fan shared, “Saw it with my mum on Friday! We both adored it!” “I am one of those ladies (in the UK). Loved every minute. Laughed and cried in equal measures,” stated one fan.

According to Variety,Freakier Friday was number two at the box office, grossing $29 million.
