Jelly Roll‘s daughter, Bailee Ann DeFord, has spoken out about her father filing for divorce from Bunnie Xo after nearly 10 years of marriage.
Bailee Ann, 18, took to TikTok on Tuesday, June 16, to comment on the news after it made headlines one day prior. “I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter. It’s fkn crazy,” DeFord wrote over a photo of herself in bed. “Go on somewhere yall,” she continued. “Worry ‘bout your house — not mine. I’m not speaking on it — yet.” (Jelly Roll, 41, shares primary custody of Bailee Ann with ex Felicia Beckwith. He holds primary custody of his daughter with Bunnie Xo, 46.)
Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, June 15, that Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) quietly submitted a divorce petition to a Tennessee court on May 18. Per documents obtained by Us, the musician listed the date of separation as May 9, listing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the filing.
The docs also stated that Jelly Roll claimed the “parties are unable to live together successfully as husband and wife.”
Us reached out to the estranged couple’s lawyers at the time for comment.
The filing also detailed Jelly Roll’s proposition in regard to the splitting of assets, with the “Son of a Sinner” hitmaker stating that the pair share “an equitable division of the parties’ assets,” as well as split “responsibility for payment of the parties’ debts.”
Prior to their split, Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo were open about their ups and downs together. Earlier this year, Bunnie (real name Alisa Andrea Carter) revealed that she and Jelly Roll were hoping to expand their family through in vitro fertilization (IVF). During a January interview with People, Bunnie said the process was “one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through.” (Bunnie does not have any biological children of her own while Jelly Roll is also father to son Noah Buddy, 9, with ex Melisa Ann Cowell.)
She added, “It’s been rough. I know that God has a plan and he’s going to make it work. I really do. I have no doubt in my mind.” The “Dumb Blonde” podcast host added that she and Jelly Roll had hoped to welcome twins.
While neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie has publicly commented on the news, Bunnie appeared to subtly react to the split via social media, sharing a cryptic TikTok on May 20, two days after the docs were submitted. “Women’s intuition when that s*** don’t add up. Mmmmhmmm #bunniexo,” she wrote over footage of herself looking around skeptically.
During an October 2025 episode of the “Human School” podcast, Jelly Roll acknowledged that he cheated on Bunnie after marrying her in Las Vegas in August 2016. He and Cowell welcomed Noah the same month Jelly Roll tied the knot with Bunnie.
In February, Bunnie exclusively spoke to Us about how the couple rebuilt their marriage after the betrayal. “I don’t think anybody can just snap out of it. It is a process. You’re literally grieving and you’re heartbroken but you’re still in love with this person. Even though the affair is a part of the book, it’s not our story,” she said at the time. “It’s literally what catapulted us into who we are today.”
