Jennifer Nettles is sharing her side of the story from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding.
The country star, who collaborated with Swift on her band Sugarland‘s 2018 hit “Babe,” told PEOPLE about her experience at the star-studded festivities at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
“To be a part of even a small part of their story for me was super special because, obviously, these are two people who are at the absolute top of their industry, the top of their game, the top of their craft, the top of their artistry,” the Farmer Wants a Wife host said. “It’s such an important time in their lives. To be able to witness that very special moment, it’s beautiful.”
The Righteous Gemstones star also indicated that there were numerous opportunities to be surprised because guests knew so little about the ceremony as the big day arrived.

“It all surprised me, because of course, no one knew anything,” she said. “I guess people had — there were leaks here and there where people were guessing, but no one knew for sure where we were going until much closer to the time.”
Nettles thinks Swift is a unique talent. “As a songwriter, you can’t touch her,” she said. “She’s the biggest artist of all time, really of our generation.”
The singer said that she was thrilled to cross paths with Swift. “I’m so proud to have been even a little part of her story,” Nettles emphasizes. “Obviously, throughout her history, she and I have worked together before, and I have such an admiration for her and what she has done.”
Nettles was just one of numerous previous Swift collaborators to attend her wedding. Also in attendance: Ed Sheeran, who dueted with the singer on “Everything Has Changed” and “End Game”; the Chicks, who sang with Swift on “Soon You’ll Get Better”; Ice Spice, who was featured on the remix of “Karma”; Chris Stapleton, who worked with the artist on “I Bet You Think About Me”; Gracie Abrams, who featured Swift on her track “Us”; Sabrina Carpenter, who sang with Swift on “The Life of a Showgirl”; and Maren Morris, who worked with her on “You All Over Me.”
