A JoJo Siwa fan is defending herself days after getting kicked out of a concert for offending the singer with her hoodie.
Last week, at the Glasgow stop of her Infinity Heart tour, Siwa unexpectedly ejected two fans from the show over a hoodie that featured Siwa photoshopped onto an egg, an image that appeared to be mocking her hairline. But one of the fans, identified as Anjali on TikTok, insists that she only intended to make the Big Brother U.K. alum laugh.
“Me and my friend, we didn’t have any merch so we were like, ‘Oh what are we going to wear?’ and we were like, ‘Oh, let’s just print out a picture and stick it on our clothes and it will be funny,'” the fan said in a Saturday TikTok video. “We just googled ‘funny JoJo Siwa pictures’ and screenshotted the first thing that came up. We didn’t look where it was from or anything like that.”

Siwa has previously discussed having insecurities surrounding her hairline, but Anjali notes that she and her friend are new fans of the singer, and didn’t have any context for the image.
“We didn’t look at the backstory behind it or know it would be a trigger for her,” she continued. “Else we absolutely would not have done that. None of it was with malicious intent.”
The fan explained that she thought Siwa would share their sense of humor and appreciate the meme — but was shocked to instead be kicked out of the show. In the aftermath of the incident, footage of Siwa reacting to the hoodie has gone viral.
In one video posted to TikTok, Siwa is handed the hoodie by someone off camera and holds it up for the crowd to see. “Want to see what happens when you do something like this?” she asked. Then, turning to the someone at the side of the stage, she said, “Can you get them out of here? Seriously.”
She continued, “You’re not going to come to my concert and bring a hoodie making fun of me. No way! No way, man! Thank you for coming, I appreciate it! But we’ve only got room for infinity hearts in here, right? Not in my house, baby.”
In her response video, the fan said that upon being pulled out with her friend, she was ignored by the venue staff and ended up calling her mother while on the verge of a “panic attack.”

She concluded, “It wasn’t very fun.”
Written over the video, the fan added an apology to the singer that read, “JoJo, I’m so, so sorry.”
Representatives for Siwa did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.
As recently as this summer, Siwa has maintained that her hairline is a sensitive topic and remains the “number one thing” people comment on when spreading negativity on her social media pages. In a TikTok video shared in July, the “Karma” singer teared up after getting a compliment from her boyfriend Chris Hughes.
“I’m drying my hair right now, and he goes, ‘You have a really good hairline,'” she told viewers, through tears. “That’s the number one thing I was bullied for as a child.”

After offering her a tissue, Hughes pulled Siwa in for a hug, reassuring her, “I love you. You have a really good hairline, it’s got so much hair.”
