MEMPHIS, Tenn. — ALLBLK, a streaming service from AMC Networks, is releasing a series about three friends navigating life in Memphis will premiere on October 30.
ALLBLK says G.R.I.T.S, or Girls Raised In The South, is an eight-episode series about three friends Keisha, Ty and Francis discovering themselves and “the grit it takes to grow up and glow up in Memphis.”
This coming of age series involves Keisha (Jasmine Sargent), Ty (Ashanti Harris) and Francis (Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon) being determined to define the next chapter in their lives, and how they find solace in roller skating.
During the series, the women will be navigating grief, love, and Memphis when a skating competition with “life-changing prize money” offers them hope.

The first episode titled “New junt” is about Keisha grieving the killing of her ex-boyfriend. Francis finally convinces Keisha to go back to the skating rink. The women discover a skating competition with prize money that can change their lives.
Some episode titles entail Southern culture and slang like “Lost in the sauce,” “Big for your britches,” and “Coleslaw.”
An episode will be released every Friday starting on Oct. 30. The series will stream on Amazon Prime Video Channels, Apple TV and Apple TV Channels, Roku and Roku Channels, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube TV, Cox, DISH, Sling TV, Charter and more.
