November Indianapolis concerts, shows, events you won’t want to miss

IndyStar’s pop culture reporter Heather Bushman breaks down the events you’ll want to mark your calendars for.

A rap concert by candlelight, a live attempt to talk to the departed and a magic show in the style of the king of rock and roll — all happening here in the month of November.

It may be colder outside lately, but entertainment in Indianapolis isn’t cooling down. Big concerts, comedians, movie events and more are headed for the Indianapolis area this month.

Check out the best entertainment, pop culture and more that Indianapolis has to offer:

Jonas Brothers, Gucci Mane head up Indy’s November concerts

The Used: The hardcore emo band is set for a three-show run in the Egyptian Room as part of their 25 Year Anniversary Tour. Nov. 1, 2 and 4 at 8 p.m. Egyptian Room at Old National Centre, 502 N. New Jersey St. Find more info here and get tickets here.

Jonas Brothers: Kevin, Joe and Nick are celebrating two decades with their JONAS20: Living the Dream tour, which will hit 40 U.S. cities before wrapping up at the end of the month. If the pattern continues, the brothers may bring out a former Disney compatriot as a special guest at Gainbridge. Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 125 S. Pennsylvania St. Find more info here and get tickets here.

How Owl Howl: The newly minted supergroup of Hootie and the Blowfish’s Darius Rucker, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills and The Black Crowe’s Steve Gorman heads Indianapolis on the heels of its first single, “My Cologne.” Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. The Vogue Theater 6259 N. College Ave. Ages 21 and older only. Find more info here and get tickets here.

The Masterclass with Gucci Mane: An orchestral, candlelit concert backed by strings and a live band and headed up by Guwop himself. Billed as a “Trap Symphony,” the Masterclass Tour reimagines Gucci Mane’s biggest hits in the intimate setting of the Murat Theater. Black tie attire is encouraged. Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. Murat Theater at Old National Centre, 502 N. New Jersey St. Find more info here and get tickets here.

Indy’s November comedy slate includes Aziz Ansari, Jerry Seinfeld

Big Names at Helium Comedy Club: A roster of TV and internet personalities are headed for the Helium stage this month, including James “Murr” Murray from “Impractical Jokers,” “The Talk” host Sheryl Underwood and “America’s Got Talent” runner-up and Golden Buzzer recipient Drew Lynch. Helium Comedy Club, 10 W. Georgia St. Find more info here.

Aziz Ansari: The “Parks and Rec” alum will hit Clowes Memorial Hall as part of his more-than 50-dates tour across North America (with a stop in Saudi Arabia). “Good Fortune,” Ansari’s feature film debut as a writer and director, recently hit theaters.
