A new touring production will soon give San Antonio kids a way to work off pent-up energy before bedtime. K-Pop Superstars Live, a concert tribute combining music from global superstars with imagery from Netflix smash KPop Demon Hunters, will stop by The Rock Box (1223 E Houston St) on May 22. Wear earplugs.

The production comes from entertainment studio Locomotive, whose main mission is to deliver nightlife experiences to parents and elder Millennials who don’t want to party until 1 am. Shows like the Dayshift afternoon disco and the rave-like Bingo Loco start early, so attendees won’t have to turn the camera off in their early morning Zoom.

While most of the company’s programming is aimed at adults, K-Pop Superstars Live is an all-ages affair. Guests can expect anime-inspired visuals, confetti storms, and choreographed live musicians covering songs from monster groups BTS, Fifty Fifty, and Blackpink, plus solo hits from Rosé and Jungkook.

“K-Pop cracked something most entertainment hasn’t, real shared fandom across generations where parents and kids show up equally bought in,” explains Locomotive founder Craig Reynolds, in a release. “As a new parent, I want high-energy, low-pressure experiences built for families to celebrate music they love and prove growing up doesn’t have to be boring.”

Although the shindig welcomes toddlers and preteens, alcoholic beverages will be served for those of age. Weary parents can have a couple of Miller Lites, put the kids to bed, and still have time for a couple of episodes of The Pitt before calling it a night.

Doors open at 4 pm with the show kicking off at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $43, including all fees, with passes required regardless of age.
