Karoline Leavitt has admitted she “could not find” a man her own age as she opened up about her age gap romance.
The 28-year-old is married to to real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, with the pair sharing a 32-year age gap. Karoline recently appeared on the Pod Force One with Miranda Devine podcast, where she spoke about her marriage.
The host asked her, “Could you not find boys your own age, who are as mature?” to which Karoline bluntly replied, “Honestly, no, if you want to know the truth,” before describing her husband as “amazing.”
A clip of the podcast was shared on X, with body language expert Judi James commenting on Karoline’s response to the scrutiny of her marriage.
Speaking exclusively to The Express US, James said, “Karoline’s body language performance here proves how supremely qualified she is for her current White House role as she neither flinches nor shows anything other than agreeable good-humor when asked a very personal and disrespectful-sounding question about her marriage.”
The expert continued, “The age-gap theme seems to be constant but a ‘Could you not find boys your own age…?’ sounds extra challenging. Karoline manages to not miss a body language beat as she replies, with just a slightly longer blink hinting at a desire to mask her true feelings here.”
James suggested Karoline showed a “positive keenness to talk about her marriage,” as she responded with a “very speedy ‘sure’ when asked to ‘Tell us about your husband.'”
James continued, “She even uses eye contact and a series of micro-nods to drive the narrative down that particular road. Her chin tilts upward at the mention of the age gap, but her agreeable smile is sustained.”
James then focused on Karoline’s body language when she responded to the question about her marriage.
“The idea of eye direction giving a steer to someone’s honesty is a generally inaccurate theory but her eyes do rise to her left when she discusses her marriage,” she told us. The expert said this “is often said to suggest recalled memory and honesty rather than a more manufactured response.”
She concluded, “There is a polite mirthless laugh as she is asked about finding ‘boys your own age’ which is probably a much more agreeable response than many people might emerge with. But she takes over the narrative after that, telling the interviewer that her husband is ‘amazing’ and an ‘amazing guy’ despite being ‘very private’.”
In the podcast interview, Karoline opened up about her parents’ reaction to her age gap romance.
She admitted they initially struggled to accept Nicholas, but eventually got to know him. “Once they got to know him and saw who he is as a man, and his character and how much he adores me, I think it became quite easy for them,” Karoline explained.
She continued, “And now we’re all friends. I mean, it’s a typical family relationship.”
