Kash Patel claimed his 27-year-old girlfriend Alexis Wilkins has received death threats during an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program.
On April 22, the 46-year-old FBI director told the television host that his girlfriend has received ‘a myriad of threats’ that he claimed are a ‘direct’ result of a story written by a New York Times journalist. Kash raised eyebrows after it was reported that his girlfriend, a private citizen, had been assigned a personal FBI security detail, which was outlined in the article.
Kash told Hannity that the publication “delivered a baseless story that caused a direct threat of life to my girlfriend,” alleging that someone wrote they “wanted to take a rifle and ‘canoe’ my girlfriend’s face,'”before noting that the person who supposedly made the threat had been “charged, arrested, and is in court.”
He continued, “We are going to protect not only me and my loved ones, but every American that is threatened,” referring to the New York Times as “baseless.”
His claims come after the publication reported that the FBI had “began investigating” Elizabeth Williamson, who wrote the article titled ‘Patel’s girlfriend seeks fame and fortune, escorted by an FBI SWAT team,’ published on February 28, 2026.
Kash and the aspiring country singer have been dating for three years, and she often accompanies him during public appearances, including his swearing-in ceremony. He recently came under public scrutiny after allegedly allocating FBI funding for Alexis’s private security detail.
“But here’s the thing,” Kash told Hannity, “Me and mine are like you and President Trump, we’re as tough as they come. We’re not going to stand down. We’re not going to take a knee on this one or anything. America elected President Trump to safeguard our communities, and you’ve seen what we’ve done.”
Fox News viewers weighed in on the FBI Director’s claims, with one writing on X, “Patel is delusional & no amount of explaining can justify using the FBI to protect his girlfriend. And BTW, how dumb can she be, actually wanting him for a boyfriend? Yuk.”
A second added, “Bro your stupidity and ignorance caused a direct threat to your girlfriends life. This guy has only showed any sign of passion and motivation until his job was threatened. Your reputation has already been destroyed.”
Another viewer weighed in, “As someone who sees himself as one of the greatest FBI directors of all time, wouldn’t you think that his girlfriend‘s life would not ever be in danger because he’s so good at his job? You’re telling me that the greatest director ever is threatened by what some person says randomly on the Internet? Maybe you aren’t the greatest of all time.”
