Move over, Prince George. There’s a new star in the Wales family, and she has four paws. Orla, Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s beloved black Cocker Spaniel, made her television debut on The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, and fans can’t get enough of the adorable moment.
Orla the Dog Steals the Show on Eugene Levy’s Travel Series
In a teaser clip shared by Hello Magazine, Prince William is seen walking happily toward the camera with Orla by his side. When host Eugene Levy asks, “Who’s this?” William introduces his furry companion with obvious pride.
“This is Orla!” William says, as both men pet the excited pup. The heartwarming interaction shows William speaking to Orla in that universal “good girl” voice all dog owners know well. When Orla gets overexcited thinking she’s going for a walk, William gently calms her down.
The sweetest moment comes when Levy pulls out dog treats. “Let me see, Orla!” he says, getting down on his knees to offer the royal pup a snack. William jokes there’s a “fifty-fifty call” on whether she’ll accept them, but Orla happily munches away, earning praise from both men.
What Makes Orla Special to the Royal Family?
Orla, whose name means “golden princess” in Irish, joined the Wales family in 2020 as a gift from Kate’s brother, James Middleton. The timing was bittersweet, as the family welcomed Orla just months before their previous Cocker Spaniel, Lupo, passed away at age 9 in November 2020.

English Cocker Spaniels are known for their merry personalities and gentle temperaments, making them ideal family pets. Standing 15 to 17 inches tall with silky coats, they’re both beautiful and eager to please.
Fans Fall in Love With William and Orla’s Bond
The response to the clip was overwhelmingly positive. “Eugene Levy feeding a British Royal dog was not on my 2025 Bingo card,” one fan joked. Others noted how much William resembles his late mother, Princess Diana, especially when he looks up from petting Orla.
“William is a normal bloke who just happened to be Royal,” one commenter observed, while another declared, “Orla is royalty and super wealthy. I have never felt more inadequate in my life.”
The clip proves that whether you’re royalty or not, the love between a person and their dog is truly universal.
