After Katy Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom, it seems she’s getting closer with her pal Kim Kardashian, but it may interfere with another friendship.
In case you missed it, an inside source told Star Magazine that Perry was “so wrapped up” with Bloom, but after their engagement ended, she’s now focusing on her friendship with Kardashian. They said, “There’s a huge hole in her life and this renewed friendship with Kim has helped to fill that.”

“She and Kim have been texting a ton and even having long calls,” the inside source claimed. “They’ve been friends for years, but this has really strengthened their bond.”
The insider added, “[They’re] encouraging each other and pumping each other up about all the hot guys they can meet together. They want to get out and have fun and go to parties and feel hot and desirable, they’re very excited.”
Now, this isn’t a new friendship because the Kardashians were featured in her “ET” music video, which was released on March 31, 2011. And at the 2015 Met Gala, Perry literally flew Kim Kardashian’s nails to her on a plane to help her complete her look. Since then, they’ve supported one another at major events, per US Weekly.
However, with their friendship getting closer, fans realized something else, this could interfere with her friendship with Taylor Swift.

For those who don’t know, Perry and Swift reportedly feuded over a dispute about booking backup dancers for their tours. Perry often spoke about wanting bygones to be bygones, but Swift resisted. Later, Perry released a song called “Swish Swish,” which many believed was targeted at Swift. Along with that, Perry dated John Mayer after her. Per POPSUGAR, Perry publicly forgave Swift for her biting comments over the years in 2017, and by 2019, they hugged it out for the music video “You Need to Calm Down.”
Now, how does this affect her friendship? Well, Swift and Kardashian have feuded for literal years.

Kardashian joined the Kanye West and Swift feud in 2016. After the song “Famous” came out, West claimed Swift gave him permission to name her (and Kardashian released a video of her agreeing to it). Swift said otherwise, she claimed that the video Kardashian took was “manipulated” and “illegally recorded.”
Kardashian gave her final statement on the feud in 2020. She wrote: “To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that ‘Kanye never called to ask for permission…’ They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word ‘b***h’ was used without her permission.” Then, Swift released the song “thanK you aIMee.”
(However, Kardashian and Swift have quite a few mutual friends, and it hasn’t affected anything, so fingers crossed this stays the same!)
