Speculation continues to swirl around the reasons behind Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s recent split.
Insiders speaking to Deuxmoi claimed that while Kidman viewed her marriage as a lifelong commitment, Urban began to feel differently. The source said, “Nicole has always believed that her marriage with Keith was for life–even if months went by without them seeing each other due to each other’s work schedules.” She viewed their marriage as permanent and did not consider divorce as an option.
However, Urban appeared to have grown increasingly uncertain about their future together. Insiders reportedly claimed the country singer began to feel that their marriage had lost its spark and that “forever” might not be realistic.
The source suggested that Urban believed “there’s still plenty of time for them to live their lives.” The singer did not want to “waste it with someone you no longer feel excitement or passion for.” The insider claimed Urban ultimately felt it was “time to move on.”
On the other hand, Kidman was reportedly caught off guard. A source alleged that during a July trip Kidman took with her sister and daughters, Urban quietly moved out of their shared home without telling her. Though the couple had previously agreed to “work on things,” he had already decided to move forward. As of now, neither has publicly commented on the speculation.
The couple’s 19-year marriage officially ended on September 30, when Kidman filed for divorce in Nashville, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Court filings confirmed that date as their official separation. It also requested that Kidman be granted primary residential custody of their teenage daughters (via TMZ).
