Keith Urban is eager to mix business and pleasure with Jessica Simpson now that she’s spending more time in Music City, an insider exclusively reveals to In Touch.
“He thinks the world of Jessica,” spills the insider. “They’ve known each other for a while.”
In 2023, the blonde bombshell told People she was traveling between Tennessee and California — where kids Maxwell, 14, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 7, are based — every two weeks while working on her two-part Nashville Canyon album.
According to In Touch’s insider, Simpson, 45, has kept up the schedule since splitting from husband Eric Johnson ahead of the recording project’s release last year.
“A lot of Keith’s interest in Jessica comes down to their shared ambitions in country music,” the insider admits, noting the “Let It Roll” performer, 58, admires the “With You” singer’s “grit and seriousness about her career.” “As artists, they’re aligned in so many ways.”

But there’s more than one obstacle standing in the way of an offstage collaboration between the pretty pair.
While Urban finalized his divorce from Nicole Kidman in January, Simpson seemingly has yet to file to officially end things with former NFL player Johnson, 46.

The mom of three has been dating monitor engineer Thomas Eisenhood for about four months after mutual pals introduced them in Nashville.
So at the moment, Grammy winner Urban might need to bide his time and stick to a mentor role — which the insider insists is just fine.
“Keith is making it clear that Jessica can access his knowledge and experience anytime she wants,” says the insider. “He really wants to help her succeed on the country music scene.”
