Kelly Clarkson Just Made A Lot Of Her Viewers Very Sad

Kelly Clarkson is making a big change in her life, one that will affect fans of her daytime talk show.

The 43-year-old entertainer announced on social media Monday that she will cease making “The Kelly Clarkson Show” at the end of the current season.

Clarkson began her post by noting she’s been “extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” who she credited with helping to create “so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”

Clarkson said she was “forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”

That’s when the post pivoted to discussing the big news.

“Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting TKCS” she wrote. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”

Clarkson also promised she won’t disappear from the limelight altogether.

“This isn’t goodbye,” she wrote. “I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.”

Since its debut in 2019, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” has won 24 Daytime Emmys, including four for “Outstanding Daytime Talk Series” and four for Clarkson as “Outstanding Talk Show Host,” according to Variety.

Clarkson’s decision to call it quits comes about six months after Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband of nearly seven years and the father of her two kids, died of cancer at 48. She took a few weeks off from making the show, but returned on Sept. 30 without mentioning his death.
