Kevin Spacey, 66, has not been left ‘homeless’ despite being ostracized from Hollywood due to sexual misconduct allegations, but he is still significantly in debt.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Spacey confessed, “I literally have no home,” but the former House of Cards star isn’t exactly living on the streets either.
Spacey faced ridicule after actor Anthony Rapp made allegations against him in 2017, with three more men coming forward in the following weeks. He denied the allegations and was later found not liable in civil litigation against Rapp.
In a criminal case, he was acquitted.

There’s no disputing that Kevin’s career suffered a blow following the allegations. He was ousted from his popular Netflix series House of Cards, and future planned projects were scrapped.
In the interview, Kevin addressed his “cancellation” directly, asserting “you’ll get through it,” as he has seldom avoided public controversy. The actor expressed, “In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was.”
In the years since 2017, despite losing major roles, Kevin still appeared in a few projects, according to his IMDb; some were filmed in advance as he portrayed Frank Underwood from House of Cards.
His most recent role was in the film 1780, which premiered at the Lucca Film Festival earlier this year. “A wounded Revolutionary War soldier takes shelter with a Pennsylvania trapper and his son. When the accusations surfaced against him, Kevin found himself compelled to publicly reveal his sexuality as gay amid the unfolding scandal. In a public statement responding to the initial allegation from Anthony, he said: “I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story. I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.
“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life. I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy. As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly that starts with examining my own behavior.”
Kevin, who doesn’t profess to be flawless, has consistently maintained his innocence regarding any sexual misconduct allegations. In a 2024 interview with ex-journalist Dan Wootton, he stated, “I take full responsibility for my past behavior and my actions, but I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologize to anyone who’s made up stuff about me or exaggerated stories about me. I’ve never told someone that if they give me sexual favors, then I will help them out with their career, never.”
