Prince Harry’s chaotic UK trip reportedly upset King Charles. Controversies marred the Duke of Sussex’s much-awaited trip to Britain from the beginning. Harry was unable to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and the couple’s kids, Archie and Lilibet, due to security reasons. Then there was a row over the royal accommodation, with Buckingham Palace reportedly denying him a place to stay.
Notably, Markle and the couple’s children visited Charles towards the end of Harry’s tour (via Sky News). According to a royal insider, this decision “seriously hurt” King Charles as he had not seen his grandchildren in four years. According to the source, Charles is not happy with his younger son’s behavior.
The insider told New Idea, “Harry’s behavior in the lead-up to, and during, his recent visit to the UK was almost the final straw for Charles.” The source explained that Charles has been “Harry’s last remaining champion, of sorts, in the Royal Family.” However, after the recent events, even “Charles has had enough… [he’s] over the drama and chaos.”
The source further dished, “He never wanted it to come to this, but now it’s so serious; Harry’s inheritance could even be on the line.” Should Charles resort to such an extreme measure, Harry would be “totally blindsided.”
As per the outlet, the Sussexes took their children to visit King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. Buckingham Palace described it as a private meeting, and neither party has discussed it in the media. Notably, this marked Markle and her children, Archie and Lilibet’s, first meeting with the King since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
