Last year, King Charles was diagnosed with cancer. But despite this ailment, the monarch keeps fulfilling his royal duties.
This is how Chris Jackson, a royal photographer who closely observed the royal family, describes him while appearing on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend.
“There have been challenges in recent years. I think the transition [Charles becoming King after Elizabeth’s death] was a challenging period. Seeing how the King and Princess Catherine bounced back from difficult times has been incredible,” he shares.
Irrespective of these challenges, Chris notes that Charles’ energy and his commitment to his duty did not wane. “Even keeping up with the King today is really hard work. He’s working left, right, and centre with so many engagements.”
It is worth noting that the cancer Charles had was not prostate, as officials previously confirmed, but moreover, they did not reveal which type he had.
Meanwhile, he has been under treatment since his diagnosis. An aide close to him previously shared that King Charles is “managing his condition while maintaining as normal a lifestyle as possible.”
It is pertinent to mention that Charles recently turned 77 on November 14.
