KPop Demon Hunters was a Netflix phenomenon that raked in nearly 325 million views of all time, with a sing-along version earning around $20 million in its limited theatrical run. Naturally, plans became big for Netflix’s Demon Hunters, who quickly put the sequel in the queue.
In a recent conversation with Collider, the voices behind beloved Rumi, Mira, and Zoey shared what they hope to see in the sequel that is slated for a 2029 release. And by the looks of it, the ideas are no doubt wildly amazing.
EJAE, who sings for Rumi, shares that she wants the sequel to celebrate Korean Culture more. “More Korean traditional stuff – traditional history, music, food.”
Audrey Nuna, who sings for Mira, wants the stories of the girls to go global. “I want to see the girls in different cities. I want to see what they bring [globally], because this film has had such a global impact. I think the movie and reality have been having a really crazy conversation with each other, and I’d love to see that continue.”
Rei Ami, who sings for Zoey, had a prequel idea in mind. She said, “I would love to see the origin story of how the girls got together.” She also had another idea that was not a prequel: “If it’s not a prequel, then I like I want Gwi-Ma back. Bring him back,” bringing other stars into agreement.
While the ideas look amazing, it will be a long wait before we see what will actually unfold in Demon Hunters 2.
