Kyle Chrisley has been indicted on charges of assault, public intoxication and more in connection to his December 2025 arrest, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.
On June 2, a grand jury in Rutherford County, Tennessee, indicted the Chrisley Knows Best alum, 34, on three counts of assault on law enforcement, three counts of retaliation for past action, one count of resisting arrest, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of public intoxication, according to court docs obtained by Us.
According to the indictment, Chrisley allegedly “unlawfully and knowingly” committed an assault on a police officer by “striking said officer with his hand or fist.” He also allegedly threatened “to kill” the officer in retaliation for being arrested and attempted to resist arrest by using “force” against the officer.
The documents also allege that Chrisley appeared “in a public place with intent to cause the public annoyance” and appeared to be “under the influence of a controlled substance, controlled substance analogue or any other intoxicating substance.”
Chrisley was arrested on December 20, 2025, and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Tennessee, Us confirmed at the time. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, three counts of felony retaliation for past actions, three counts of felony assault on first responders and resisting arrest. The domestic assault charge was dismissed upon his indictment.
Chrisley was released on an $88,500 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for July 23.

According to a press release issued by Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh shortly after Chrisley’s arrest, deputies responded to a call on Saturday made by the reality star’s wife, Ashleigh Nelson, who claimed he was being “belligerent” and walking down the middle of the road while she followed him in her vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they attempted to speak with Chrisley, who allegedly “became immediately aggressive.”
Chrisley then allegedly “charged at deputies and began to throw punches and assault deputies.” He was taken into custody after a “physical altercation and deployment of OC Spray,” according to the press release. Three officers reportedly “suffered injuries” during the altercation.

Kyle — who is the son of Todd Chrisley and Todd’s ex-wife, Teresa Terry — has a history of run-ins with the law. In 2013, Todd, 57, and wife Julie Chrisley received joint custody of Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, now 13, after he was arrested for assault. The pair later received full custody of Chloe in 2016.
In March 2023, Kyle was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Prosecutors ultimately dismissed the charges before trial.
Kyle was arrested again for aggravated assault in September 2024. The following August, he and his wife sued Rutherford County and two sheriff’s deputies for $1.7 million, claiming he was unfairly arrested.
Per the lawsuit, “a disgruntled mechanic, angry over a payment dispute, showed up uninvited, kicked at their doors, threatened violence, and used his car as a weapon by ramming their SUV and nearly running Kyle over in front of multiple neighbors.”
He alleged that police “didn’t arrest the man who caused the chaos,” per his filing. “Instead, they arrested Kyle Chrisley, and ignored clear evidence that he was the victim, not the aggressor.”
Kyle and Ashleigh stated they took legal action “because no family should face criminal charges or threats of arrest for defending themselves at home or for exercising their constitutional rights.” The suit was placed on hold pending the criminal charges.
