If you had to describe Le Rox’s new single “Pain Relief,” you might say that it’s chaos in the greatest sense possible. It only takes a couple of notes before you are immersed in that beautiful turmoil, as the band blasts you with a bolt of extreme energy.
Today marks the debut of the music video for “Pain Relief,” a visual depiction of the song’s urgency and imminence. The video clip really gives you a load of the raw power and intensity that flows through this London, England quartet. The song itself was inspired by real personal turmoil. It is a musical representation of the heartbreak, self-destructive tendencies, and raw desperation that come with experiencing turmoil. The band has taken that inspiration and laced it with all of the infectious punk energy you could possibly cobble together.
Commenting on the song more specifically, lead singer Laura Le Rox states:
“‘Pain Relief’ is the fight for escape from a time that almost swallowed me. It’s about battling through and chasing any light you can find, good or bad.”
Le Rox wrote this song during a difficult period in her life. It’s very relatable since it hones in on the desperation that we often feel in these situations. Guitarist Steffan Duarte produced the song, with each member contributing to the final product.
“Pain Relief” is an ideal representation of the type of band Le Rox is. They are more of a crossover act than anything, bringing together hardcore, punk, and metal. Although based in the UK, the band features members from England, Brazil, and Venezuela. They have earned praise as a live act thanks to standout performances at Manchester Punk Festival and Facedown London at Scala. As audiences are coming to learn, discord has never sounded so good as on a song by Le Rox.
