Lindsay Lohan Is Starring on TV For the First Time originally appeared on Parade.
After all but disappearing from the entertainment world for several years, Lindsay Lohan has been steadily mounting a comeback. First, she starred in two Netflix Christmas movies, Falling for Christmas and Our Little Secret. Then she reprised her role from Freaky Friday alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the new sequel, Freakier Friday.
Now, hot off the heels of Freakier Friday’s success, Lohan is about to star in a TV show for the first time.
Lohan is set to star in the Hulu limited series Count My Lies, reports Variety. The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen actress will co-star alongside Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley, both of whom will also serve as executive producers. The show will be helmed by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who also served as showrunners on NBC’s hit This Is Us.
Varietyfirst reported the series’ development back in April. Now, it’s been given the green light. The series based on a novel of the same name by Sophie Stava that was released in March. Count My Lies was also Stava’s first novel. Impressive!
So what’s the show about? Here’s the official logline: “When compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart, it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.” Sounds like a Lifetime movie.
While this is Lohan’s first time starring in a TV series, she’s made a few small screen appearances before. She’s previously guest starred on Glee and Ugly Betty, and in the ’90s she did a short stint as Alli Fowler on the soap opera Another World.
