Love Island USA viewers are trying to decode the sexual foodie euphemism after season 8 Islander Kenzie discussed her and match Corbin’s bedtime escapades in the villa on Sunday night’s episode.
After the group woke up from their not-so-peaceful slumber, fellow Islander Trinity headed to the women’s quarters to ask who was doing “French fries.” She insisted whatever she and her partner Bryce heard was “too wet” to be kissing.
Kenzie burst out laughing.
“I was definitely getting some French fries. Feeling good,” Kenzie said in a confessional. “We were probably doing a bit much, honestly, but I feel a strong connection with Corbin. And we probably got a little bit carried away.”
The reality series’ narrator, Iain Stirling, called it when he said, “I foresee that, in approximately 30 seconds, millions of Americans will Google: ‘French fries sex'” … because that’s exactly what happened. Many viewers attempted to decode the phrase, which seemingly allows the cast to avoid getting censored on TV. (Try typing “French fries” into Google search without it coming up “French fries love island.”)
“French fries are a ‘finger’ food,” one Redditor theorized on a thread about the topic, with another adding, “Side dish, not main course.”
As some expressed confusion about the usage of said side dish on the show, others quelled any fears that they were out of the trendy lingo loop.

A few Redditors confirmed that, in the past, Islanders have used self-created euphemisms to refer to sex acts. (On season 7 of Love Island USA, Cierra used the word “journey” to refer to sex with her then-match Nic. And on Love Island UK season 6, food terms like tomato, avocado, and toast were uttered when discussing intimate sexual situations.)
“They usually come up with code words for the different levels of hooking up so they can say it on tv without being explicit,” a Redditor explained.
Love Island USA fanned the flames of the discussion by sharing a clip from the most recent episode on social media, in which Kenzie, Trinity and fellow Islander Jen discuss who’s getting French, ahem, fried.
“Must be nice. I want some French fries,” Trinity told the girls. Kenzie insisted she should “try it out,” before Trinity confirmed she got “one little French fry.”
“It was good, but we didn’t literally do anything,” she continued. “It was just, like, a quick little [pop sound] just to see.” The girls went on to discuss their personal relationships further, but it’s important to keep matters private here.
Fans on X rallied in the comments, with one insisting, “Trinity out here starting a whole new fast food menu.”

Another added, “Them fries at Casa now,” in reference to the start of the Love Island franchise’s famed Casa Amor, which kicked off during Sunday’s episode as the men headed to a separate villa with new “bombshells” — and the women were given a flat screen TV to tune in to the mess. (A record 12 “bombshells” will join the girls in the OG villa tonight.)
Sounds like another form of frying is on its way.
