Meghan Markle has changed out of her chic white suit in favour of a more relaxed khaki green outfit as she and Prince Harry visit a refugee camp in northern Jordan. Wearing high-waisted green trousers with a brown leather belt, dark green T-shirt and white blouse, Meghan clapped as she watched a music class during a visit to the QuestScope Youth Center at the Za’atari refugee camp, home to displaced Syrians, near Mafraq.
Jordan has received wave after wave of refugees beginning with Palestinians more than 80 years ago, who now number around 2.5 million people, and Syrians who fled conflict in their country, which was recently ruled by President Bashar al-Assad. The latest wave of displaced people has flowed from the Israeli government’s Gaza war against Hamas, launched after Hamas atrocities committed during the October 7 attacks.
The duke and duchess arrived in Jordan for a two-day visit focusing on humanitarian health response, mental health, and support for vulnerable communities affected by conflict and displacement.
They are currently visiting the social development organisation to hear from young people participating in creative and wellbeing programmes.
Earlier, they sat down with key figures working to support the humanitarian needs of refugees in the country and wider region.
