Meghan Markle experienced ‘culture shock’ in royal life

Meghan Markle might have been in over her head when marrying Prince Harry.

According to journalist Samara Gill, entering the royal family was a “culture shock” for the Duchess of Sussex.

“It’s not as glamorous as the Disney fairytale,” she said during an appearance on the “Royal Exclusive” podcast.

English correspondent Jennie Bond believes Meghan thought she could be the star of The Firm.

“I have always held the view that Meghan failed to understand that she would never be the top dog in the royal family…or even the deputy top dog,” she toldOK! U.K.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be in complete control and charge of your life,” Bond pointed out.

“There’s nothing wrong with seeking the limelight. It’s just that the royal family was the wrong vehicle for her ambitions,” the journalist added.

Expert Phil Dampier claimed once the Suits star realized she didn’t have the freedom to use her status the way she wanted, she fled.

“To be honest, I don’t think she ever intended to stay in the royal family,” he told The Sun.

“Unfortunately, I think she was prepared to have a wonderful wedding costing millions of pounds, but I don’t think her heart was ever really in it,” the commentator said.

“I think she always planned to leave, so the proof of the pudding is in the eating and that’s what we’re seeing now,” Dampier noted.

Meghan and the Spare author got engaged in 2017 before marrying in May 2018.

In January 2020, the couple announced they were leaving England to live in America.
