Meghan Markle reportedly “hasn’t made contact” with her dad, Thomas Markle, following his “life or death” operation earlier this week. Thomas, 81, had to undergo life-saving surgery during which his leg was amputated, it has been claimed.
Speaking out on his father’s condition, Meghan Markle‘s half-brother revealed that their dad fell seriously ill at his home in the Philippines. Thomas Markle Jnr. said earlier this week: “I took dad to a hospital close to our home and they did various scans and the doctors said his life was in imminent danger.
“They raced us by ambulance, with the sirens going, to a much bigger hospital in the center of the city. My dad has undergone emergency surgery.”
After a plea from Thomas Markle Jnr for Meghan to “show compassion” to her dad, the 44-year-old reportedly has still not been in contact with her family.
Speaking to the Daily Mail on Thursday, Thomas Jnr encouraged his half-sister and her husband Prince Harry to reach out to her dad.
He told the publication: “I would implore Meghan and Harry to reach out to Dad.” The concerned son added that, as of Thursday, his dad is “heavily medicated” and “hooked up to all kinds of machines”.
Although they were previously close, Thomas is known to have had a difficult relationship with his daughter later on.
Thomas has previously talked about the “pain” of their estrangement since her marriage to Prince Harry.
He has never met his son-in-law or the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
