Meghan Markle and Prince Harry found time to enjoy a dinner date last night during their trip to New York City.
The couple went to Soho House and was photographed leaving in matching dark looks. Harry had on a navy suit, while Meghan appeared in a gray Chanel tweed bandeau dress. She previously wore the piece in her 2022 profile for The Cut, according to fashion fan account What Meghan Wore. People noted that Ed Sheeran was spotted at the New York social club as well, though it is unclear whether he dined with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
On Thursday, Meghan and Harry attended Project Healthy Minds’ annual gala, where they were awarded the Humanitarians of the Year Award for their “exceptional global efforts in building a safer, more equitable digital world for families and youth, and their meaningful contributions to advancing mental well-being worldwide.”
In their acceptance speech, Meghan gushed over their kids. “Our children, Archie and Lilibet, are just 6 and 4 years old,” she said, per People. “Can you believe it?”
She then turned her remarks to the online dangers awaiting them, saying, “Luckily, they’re still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming. Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.
“We know that when parents come together, when communities unite, waves are made,” she added. “We’ve seen it happen. We’re watching it grow. And with your support, we’ll continue building a safer digital world for all our children.”
The couple’s New York trip comes shortly after Meghan made headlines for attending the Balenciaga Paris Fashion Week show. The house’s new creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, told The Cut that Meghan personally sought her invitation to his debut.
“Meghan and I met some years ago, and we’ve been texting ever since,” he said. “She reached out and said she’d love to come to the show. There was no strategy or big orchestration. I didn’t tell anyone she was coming because I wanted it to stay a surprise. In fashion, real surprises are rare, and this one was beautiful.”
