This was the way she passed a gift she had been given to one of her aides to hold while she continued meeting people.
The gifts Meghan was given included an orchid and another flower from a young cancer patient.
This gesture of swiftly passing a gift to a royal aide, often used by royals during public walkabouts, including by Princess Catherine, who is often handed bouquet after bouquet of flowers.
It is also a gesture that some younger members of the Royal Family make during events such as the Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham, when they are handed plenty of gifts from members of the public.
It means the royals can continue shaking hands and meeting members of the public without the risk of dropping the gifts they have been given.
Meghan and Harry’s Australia tour is now well into day two.
These engagements include visiting the Australian War Memorial and attending the Last Post Ceremony. Joint engagements will continue on Thursday.
