Meghan Markle, now globally recognized as the wife of Prince Harry, King Charles’ youngest son, was once married to another man. Before her Royal wedding in 2018, Meghan had previously tied the knot with her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, back in 2011.

This revelation came from Bethenny Frankel during an episode of The Toast podcast, having met Trevor years prior at a bar.
Bethenny shared that their interaction was brief and they sporadically kept in touch via text, one of which involved Meghan, who is now 44.
Bethenny, who encountered Trevor at Soho House in Chicago, recounted, “He said his ex was a woman from a show called Suits. Months later, I see pictures in US Weekly of Harry dating someone, and I text him to say ‘Is this your ex?'”
Trevor confirmed that it was indeed his ex, Meghan, who was dating Prince Harry, leading Bethenny to text him back, asking, “Do you think she’ll close?”
His response was simply, “Oh, she’ll close.” Bethenny did not divulge any further details, leaving the meaning of “close” in this context up for interpretation.
Meghan and Harry have been married for seven years, with five of those years residing in Montecito, California.
Their relocation occurred in 2020, less than two years post their nuptials, when they decided to step back from Royal duties and move stateside.
Meghan Markle broke up with Trevor Engelson primarily due to their long-distance relationship while she was filming Suits in Toronto and he was in Los Angeles.
After about two years of marriage, the couple officially separated in July 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”. Her growing career and success may have also contributed to the separation.
