Meghan Markle has been criticised for focusing on the importance of family in her Netflix series due to having no contact with her own family – including her own father. The royal is thought to have not spoken to Thomas Markle since 2018, the same year that she married Prince Harry in Windsor.
The episode, which will be available to watch on Netflix today, will see Meghan prepare for the festive season. It is believed the episode will show the Duchess of Sussex and her friends “embrace” old traditions and start new ones.
Prior to the release of the Christmas special of With Love, Meghan, today, columnist Sarah Vine appeared to criticise Meghan for preaching about the importance of family after her own actions towards her own father – and Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s grandfather.
Sharing in a video posted on the Daily Mail, she said: “She talks a lot about the importance of family and the importof traditions.
“Given that this is a woman who reuses to see her own father and won’t let her children see their grandfather, it is a little bit hard to swallow.”
As well as Meghan’s father, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, are thought to have not see their paternal grandfather, King Charles, since 2022.
Speaking of his grandchildren, Thomas previously said that he was “very sad” with the idea that Archie and Lilibet are being “denied” a royal lifestyle.
Talking on The Circuit podcast with host Emily Chang earlier this year, Meghan also shared how she wants “family support” for her children despite the ongoing feuds.
Emily asked: “I there anything you want for your kids that’s different from what you and Harry have had? Especially when it comes to family”.
Replying almost instantly, Meghan said: “Oh yeah. I want them to have the fullness of life and family and support.”
