The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Midland is excited to announce a new, expanded initiative for the Christmas season called “Experience His Light.”
The community is invited to participate in this season-long celebration through a series of events.
The annual Nativity Exhibit will feature more than 1,300 unique nativity scenes from around the world at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1700 West Sugnet Road. It will be open Dec. 5-6 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
A free Christmas Concert will also be held at the church on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., featuring violinist Dr. Yeagi Broadwell, Maple Woods Quartet, vocalist Indigo Connolly, Vocal Canvas, and an Interfaith Choir.
The “Experience His Light” Music Festival will run from Dec. 2 to Dec. 23 at the Midland Mall. It will feature the musical talents of local members and others from the community, creating a warm, festive, and inspiring environment.
Embodying the spirit of service, the special “Giving Experience” focuses on ensuring “Light Can Lift” those closest to the Midland community. This area will highlight wonderful local non-profit organizations. Visitors can learn about their missions and directly choose how to support them—through monetary donations, volunteering time, or donating needed goods.
Displays will be featured at both the Midland Mall (throughout the season) and the LDS Chapel on Sugnet (during the Nativity Exhibit).
On Saturday, Dec. 20, Get Creative for Kids Day at the Midland Mall from 1-4 p.m. will include face painting, balloon animals, storytelling, and crafts.
