Miranda Kerr has broken her silence about ex-husband Orlando Bloom’s split from Katy Perry.
The model, who shares 14-year-old son Flynn with Bloom, discussed the situation while appearing on the Wednesday, September 3 edition of KIIS FM’s “Kyle & Jackie O Show.”
“We’re one big, happy family,” Kerr, 42, told the outlet. “Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously.”
Us Weekly broke the news in June that Bloom, 48, and Perry, 40, had called off their engagement after a decade together. The exes have been amicably coparenting their daughter, 4-year-old Daisy Dove, following their breakup.
“I actually just saw them both on the weekend. We were celebrating Daisy’s birthday,” Kerr said Wednesday.
The KORA Organics founder married The Lord of the Rings star in 2010 after three years of dating. They divorced in 2013. Kerr and Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel tied the knot in 2017 and have since welcomed three children: Hart, 7, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 1.
Kerr previously opened up about her post-divorce relationship with Bloom in a 2023 interview with Access Hollywood.
“We enjoy each other’s company,” Kerr said at the time. “It’s great.”
She noted that when she and Bloom separated, “we just said ‘listen, at the end of the day, the most important thing is that Flynn’s needs come first, not ours.’ So whatever we do, is this in the best interest of Flynn? And that’s kind of how we’ve navigated it.”
Kerr sang Perry’s praises during an interview with the “Something To Talk About” podcast two years ago.
“I literally say how thankful I am for Katy every day,” Kerr said back then. “I feel very blessed to have that relationship with her. She really is like a sister to me and we’ve kind of connected from day one.”
In a 2023 interview with Vogue, Perry called them a “blended family, a modern family. And we want to help destroy that old narrative [that] ex-wives and new wives don’t get along.’ That’s not true. We are strong, powerful women and we need each other and we are really there for each other.”
Bloom and the “Fireworks” singer started dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2019.
The now-exes’ reps have stressed that there’s no drama between the two.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” a July statement shared with Us read. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
