CINCINNATI — Blake Dunn hit a single in the 10th inning to drive in automatic runner Spencer Steer and give the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.

Steer homered twice and Will Benson hit a tying solo shot in the ninth for the Reds, who only had four hits in the game.

The Royals led 3-2 when pinch-hitter Benson homered off Royals closer Lucas Erceg.

The Royals had runners on first and third with one out in the 10th, but Jac Caglianone lined out to short and Brock Burke (2-2) struck out Kyle Isbel to end the threat.

Royals left-hander Noah Cameron (Central Arkansas) allowed 1 hit — Steer’s solo home run in the fifth — and struck out 8 with no walks in 7 innings.

Kansas City had lost eight of Cameron’s 10 starts this season but he was dominant on Tuesday, tying career highs for innings pitched and strikeouts.

Cameron, who took a no-hitter into the seventh in his major league debut on April 30, 2025, retired the first 13 batters he faced on Tuesday with four strikeouts.

With one out in the fifth, Steer hit a solo home run for the Reds’ first hit. Cameron struck out three batters in the fifth and retired seven straight following Steer’s homer.

John Schreiber (0-3) took the loss.

Reds left-hander Andrew Abbott allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits in 6 innings.

The Royals loaded the bases twice in the fourth. The first run scored from third on Caglianone’s groundout. Two more runs scored on Michael Massey’s two-out single.

BRAVES 4, BLUE JAYS 3 Matt Olson hit a tiebreaking homer, Bryce Elder bounced back from his worst start of the season and host Atlanta defeated Toronto. Elder (5-3) went 6 2/3 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. Kevin Gausman took the loss despite another deep start. He surrendered 5 hits and 4 runs with 8 strikeouts in 6 innings.

RANGERS 7, CARDINALS 4 Joc Pederson hit a tiebreaking single against Riley O’Brien (3-3) in the ninth inning and visiting Texas beat the St. Louis for its season-best fifth straight victory. Pederson went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI. Cal Quantrill (3-0) entered with a runner on second and two outs in the eighth and retired Ivan Herrera.

ATHLETICS 2, CUBS 1 Gage Jump pitched seven effective innings in his first major league win, leading the visiting Athletics past the Chicago Cubs. Nick Kurtz homered for the A’s, who had lost seven of nine. Zack Gelof also drove in a run. Jump (1-1) allowed three hits, struck out five and walked one in his second career start. Jameson Taillon (2-5) surrendered the two runs while pitching 6 1/3 innings.

PIRATES 10, ASTROS 6 Oneil Cruz and Brandon Lowe hit three-run homers and Endy Rodriguez added a two-run shot to power visiting Pittsburgh past Houston. Pittsburgh starter Bubba Chandler (2-6) allowed 5 hits and 3 runs — 3 earned — in 5 innings. Mike Burrows (3-7) permitted 8 hits and 6 runs — 5 earned — in 5-plus innings.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

PHILLIES 3, PADRES 2 Bryce Harper hit his 377th career home run and Jhoan Duran struck out the side in a perfect ninth for his 13th save to lead host Philadelphia over San Diego. Alec Bohm grounded into a double play against Jeremiah Estrada (2-2) in the sixth that brought home a run for the 3-2 lead. Jose Alvarado (2-1) pitched a scoreless sixth for the win.

MARLINS 7, NATIONALS 3 Joe Mack, Heriberto Hernandez and Otto Lopez hit successive home runs in the fifth inning to power visiting Miami Marlins past Washington. Mack’s two-run homer off Miles Mikolas (1-5) in the fifth opened the scoring. Mikolas was charged with 6 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings after Nationals opener Richard Lovelady worked two hitless innings.

BREWERS 8, GIANTS 3 Kyle Harrison matched his season high with 12 strikeouts, Jake Bauers hit a three-run homer and host Milwaukee Brewers beat San Francisco. Harrison (7-1) allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings, improving to 6-0 in his last seven starts. Bauers connected off Trevor McDonald (2-3) in the first inning for his team-leading 10th homer after Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio walked.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

TIGERS 8, RAYS 0 Gleyber Torres hit a leadoff homer, Wenceel Perez and Riley Greene also went deep and visiting Detroit routed Tampa Bay. Jack Flaherty (1-7) struck out six in five-plus innings for his first win since last September. Matt Vierling tripled, doubled and drove in two runs. Steven Matz (4-3) allowed 5 runs and 6 hits in 1 2/3 innings for Tampa Bay.

ORIOLES 4, RED SOX 2 Pete Alonso hit a two-run homer and Shane Baz pitched seven solid innings as visiting Baltimore beat Boston. Coby Mayo also homered for Baltimore, which won its third straight and ended a three-game road skid. Baz (3-5) pitched 7 innings for a second straight start, allowing four 4 and striking out 6. Alonso’s third-inning homer against from Connelly Early (5-3) went well over Fenway Park’s Green Monster in left field to put Baltimore up 3-1.

GUARDIANS 9, YANKEES 4 Jose Ramirez doubled in three straight at-bats and drove in the go-ahead run against Cam Schlittler in the fifth inning before visiting Cleveland pulled away to beat New York. Kyle Manzardo launched a two-run homer off Schlittler (7-3) in the fourth and rookie Travis Bazzana hit a three-run double off Camilo Doval in the eighth. Cleveland starter Joey Cantillo permitted 4 runs and 6 hits in 4 innings. Five relievers followed, and Colin Holderman (4-1) stranded a runner in the fifth for the win.

TWINS 6, WHITE SOX 4 Luke Keaschall and Tristan Gray drove in two runs apiece in a bottom-of-the-order attack, and host Minnesota beat Chicago to deliver right-hander Davis Martin a rare loss. Keaschall, Gray and Alex Jackson — batting seventh, eighth and ninth — each had two hits off Martin (8-2), who lasted 4 2/3 innings in his shortest of 12 starts this season. Left-hander Connor Prielipp (2-3) pitched into the seventh to match his longest start as a pro, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks with 7 strikeouts over a career-high 94 pitches.
