Mumbaikars sway to Salim-Sulaiman’s electrifying music

Salim-Sulaiman ignited Dublin Square, Kurla, with a vibrant concert on July 10th, transforming the venue into a pulsating carnival. The duo paid tribute to KK and dedicated a song to the armed forces, creating moments of nostalgia and patriotism.

Right from the first beat, it was a big musical party at Dublin Square, Kurla. Legendary Bollywood composer-singer duo, Salim–Sulaiman took the stage and turned the concert hall into a pulsating, confetti-filled carnival on Sunday evening, July 10. The part concert, part mass sing-along, was pure magic from start to finish.

LED lights bathed the space in a kaleidoscope of color, confetti cannons shot bursts of glittering joy, and the walls seemed to reverberate with applause, cheers, and the sheer electricity of the musical moments. Salim’s heartfelt tribute to the late KK set an emotional tone early on. Singing Aashaeyin, he said, “This one is for my brother KK. We played here three years ago for a tribute concert to him. He still lives on.” The audience responded with loud cheers, turning the performance into a chorus of nostalgia and love. Hit after hit followed — Kurbaan Hua, Ishq Wala Love, Halkat Jawani, Fashion Ka Jalwa (complete with flashlight waves). He announced, “We are such a diverse nation, we celebrate all the festivals of Holi, Diwali, Dassehra, Baisakhi, Navratri, Eid, Christmas, and it doesn’t matter hum Hindu ho, Muslim ho, Sikh ho, Isahi ho. Koi hai asia desh jahan sab milke aise celebrate kartein hain? Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aa raha hai and sab milke celebrate karenge. Yehi hai Hindustaan. And while we are comfortable in our homes, the army, navy, AirForce, BSF, military, they just have one dharam and that is Hindusataan. Ek second mein waoh desh ke liye qurbaani dene ko tayaar hotein hain. Aaj hum ek gaana unko dedicate karna chahtein hain. All those brave men and women who have lost their lives, their families, friends still remember them. Aaj hum un sabko ek song, ek prayer dedicate karenge, unn veer jawano ke liye. Yeh gaana unke liye. “ He followed this up with a soulful performance of Ali Maula. The duo even surprised fans with a bhajan, Shiv Shiv Bole Ja, proving their versatility. “We always give a lot of importance to devotional songs. Mujhe bahut mann tha ki hum ek aisa bhakti ka geet karenge iss concert mein jo hum sabko bahut accha lage. Bhoomi ke liye humne kafi saare devotional songs kiye hain. Kal Monday hai, and yeh Shiv bhajan hamare dil ke bahut kareeb hai.” The stage also saw talents like Raj Pandit, Vipul Mehta, Kavya Limaye, bring fresh energy to classics. A medley of love songs (Maula Mere Lele Meri Jaan, Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai, Dance Pe Chance, and more) had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs. With Jugni Ji, all five performers broke into perfectly choreographed moves, sending the audience in the concert hall into a frenzy. By the time they hit Ainvayi Ainvayi the audience was completely in their grip — dancing, clapping, screaming every word.
