SALISBURY TWP., Pa. – She’s known for reimagining iconic R&B, pop and classic rock songs with her signature style, and we’re so excited to share her with all of you Monday morning.
The Lehigh Valley’s own Maniya joined 69 News at Sunrise. Maniya, who’s an Emmaus High School graduate, said she loved growing up in the region.
She said she had a teacher that believed in her and her musical abilities.
She talked about how she got her start in music. Maniya said she grew up loving gospel music. She was part of a choral group called “Gospel for Teens,” from when she was 13 to 17 years old.
Maniya went to college at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
She’s known for her soulful mashups. She said she loves hearing different beats and mashing them up.
Maniya released her single “Curious,” and is working on her extended play (EP) “Deep Diary.”
She’ll be performing at her first Musikfest this summer.
